I f I were you I would choose the open variant. But I understand you fully. No problem.

Cut the solid conopy off the sprue frame. But do that like I showed you .Firstly with a longer sprue piece of the frame then removing its remain close to the element.

Sometimes it is easier to fit a such kind of conopy to the model. But you can go wiith the solid one. Really no problem. The way of preparing for painting of both ones is the same.

OK. Find a small box where you can keep them. We start with the central part of cockpit. You wiil need a sharp pencil, scissors and the blue tape.

OK>

You have noticed there are raised lines on the part. These are the outlines of the cockpit frame.
The areas between these lines should be painted only. These are quite thin right ? Look at the pic below I have marked the frame with red colour.Do you agree it is like I say.

So OK. Cut a strip of the blue masking tape in order to stick it to the one of sides of the conopy.Be careful and won't berak the glass. Then with the sharp pencil try to outline the inner shape of the cockpit glasses. In the pic below I have marked with the yellow line you should go with to draw the shape of the glass. Push the pencil slightly holding the conpy with left hand and fingers. When you got the inner shape of the glass unstick the tape and cut the shape out with scissors.

Yes something like that. But you could cut longer strip for both windows. When you stick a strip to the conopy you will notice that these raised lines of the cockpt frame make the tape a little bulged So if you use the pencli these lines will be like walls that can lead the ending of the pencil.

Unfortunately my camera is not available so I have to describe it only. Do you understand Harry. If not I''l try to make a diagram
