Thanks guys. I always love that event for the camaraderie and the flying, but the turbulence is a pain. But i wouldn't think I was in Palm Springs if the wind stopped blowing.

Eric, what helmet camera do you have? Those videos are pretty sharp.
I've been thinking about getting one, and might have to start hinting to my wife about xmas presents!

It's a rubberized glare shield that can retract, Merv. It's real handy for glare when the canopy is closed, and keeps me from scratching the canopy.

I have the Contour HD camera for the helmet. It shoots full HD and weighs only 4 ounces. It's nice and small.

Excellent video Eric! The turbulence looked to be a good pain though. Most folks don't realize how restricted you are in craft like that. Shooting can be kinda tough. Great material sir!

So I took the airliner route to Tuscon earlier this week for work. I wanted to go to the Pima Air Museum, but didn't get a chance with the schedule. I did, however get some photos of some of the airliners and from the air. Next time I get out there, I am going a day early so I can get to the Museum and enjoy it.

The first 2 shots are over California. The second 2 are Qantas birds, the 747 and 2 A380s. Sitting in an Embraer, the 380s look really huge!

Couple of nice shots there Eric, snow capped mountains and the desert valley right next to each other. Your right about the A380 as well, it is huge and a nice quiet bird to fly in.

Yes, the second shot was at 30k. I never use filters as I don't like any more reflective surfaces than necessary between me and my subjects.
