Seeing that Gumby just had a son, I remember announcing the birth of my daughter here 6 and a half years ago. She graduated kindergarten last week. Where did the time go?

You're going to have troubles there in about 10 years or so, Eric.
I've seen a shirt with the wording:

DADD - Dads against Daughters Dating.
Shoot the first one and word will get around.

I've got to admit, since my boy was born, I look at kids a bit differently, and babies especially.

That is completely normal, Gumby. My son was born first, so he will help be my enforcer. Dad will have a loaded shotgun and a bad attitude.

So I had some old camera gear laying around the house and an empty display case. The light bulb went on and I started the VG-Photo museum of photography. There are a number of cameras that I have used over the years that I don't have anymore, but I have already had my first offer of a donation to the museum. Who knows where this could lead.

The powershots are great cameras. This one is an S50. It's been sprayed with water, dropped countless times and abused heavily ans continued to work. The battery won't hold a charge anymore, sadly.

Seeing how important photography is to me, I couldn't bear to tear one apart. But could see where some of the parts could be useful.

As usual, the city where I live did their annual fireworks on Independence Day Eve, July 3. It gives me a jump on everyone else's firework photos. Tough night to shoot though, the marine layer rolled in and softened the focus for most of the shots. I tried it with the 50mm f/1.8 and while I got some good ones, I realized that shooting aperture priority with the D80 was a big mistake. The inconsistent metering on the D80 is a known issue and I should have stuck with what I know works, shutter priority. Oh well, live and learn. Either way, it was fun.

The traffic intersection shots are interesting. The cars sitting still really capture you attention. Shutter speed looks like it was about 1/10.

I'd have to look at the exif data. I shot those on aperture priority at f/22 at about 7:45-8 PM, so there was still a considerable amount of light.
