On Dec 10, 1941, Kelly's aircraft attacked a Japanese minesweeper off the Philippine cost and while returning to Clark Field was attacked by a flight of Japanese fighters. Kelly remained at the controls allowing his crew bail out before the aircraft crashed. Kelly was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Here it is, finished after almost 15 years. It's finally on the display shelves with my other bombers.
