I am sad. He was very kind to me personally and at the same time, he didn't suffer fools. It happened though we didn't suffer the same fools, so had we had that in common. I shall miss his guidance.

Just wake up for the day and saw Chris post. I'm in disbelief, every thing too fast.

Condolences for the family and all of you that know him.

He was a great guy. I didn't came to know Joe in deep but he was so friendly to me that I thought of him as an old friend.

Thanks Chris for all the efforts keeping us informed and big hug for you.

Picking Biff post, maybe we are in time to make a crowdfunding for whatever Joe wanted for all the forum members that want yo joint it.

We toast our faithful comrades
Now fallen from the sky
And gently caught by God's own hand
To be with him on high.

To dwell among the soaring clouds
They knew so well before
From dawn patrol and victory roll
At heaven's very door

And as we fly among them there
We're sure to hear their plea-
"Take care my friend; watch your six,
and do one more roll… just for me."

I'm saddened that THIS event is what is bringing me back to the site after being away for a long long time. Joe was a warehouse of knowledge, a foundation of this website, and a great guy to pick his brain about aviation. I wasn't as close to him as Adler or Wurger and others but we still had a few private conversations many years ago. Most importantly he was a good dad and a good man! Joe, you will be missed tremendously!
