Thanks all.

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but the hours at work have gone up and A/C is not working with the outside temps at 95F to 98F with the "feels like" temps at 107F to 112F, I just have not found the time and initiative to go upstairs and work much. I have been working but slowly.

The replacement tail is on but the surgery was not without it's pains. I haves a lot of this cleaned up but still needs a lot of work. Here's what it looked like.

Surprised you are getting fit problems with this kit.
The fit problems are from my making. remember I put one back on and then cut it off to replace it. That caused a bit of an issue. don't blame the cow, blame the butcher.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all have relatives everywhere. Anyway, I've been working on cleaning up both 47's as the silver is really showing up a lot of errors, both min and whatever.
There were a lot of sanding scars and some divets in the upper wing over the wheel wells. I had to sand with course. medium, fine and super fine and polishing grit. takes up a lot of time.
