Hey guys: Here's where we are this Sunday night. The construction of the
wing is complete, it's sitting on the dihedral blocks. You can see the
fuselage in the background, complete with tail section, prop and spinner.
Next move is to cover the wings....

I've decided not to re-do the landing gear like I did with the FW-190.
This one will have the plastic wheels and a straight pin for an axle.

Here's where we are, tonight (Thurs). The fuselage is finished (except for
canopy), and the wings have been attached for a test fit. The wings still
have to have a few coates of diluted clear dope and sanded. In the meantime
I can make the wing fairings, and assemble the landing gear.

The blue thing in the cockpit is the rubber motor.

Looks great Charles! Just noticed something and I may be jumping ahead but are there any elevator braces mentioned in the kit? I see the plans only show them in one schematic but nowhere else.

Chris: Yes, it does have elevator braces..... short pieces of 1/16 sq. balsa.
If you look at a pic of the real one it shows an aerodynamic shaped brace with round/oval supports at each end. I'd like to replicate these....

Charles that Bf 109 is looking sweet as can be. my you have the patience, knowing myself I would of broken several of the wood pieces and then would of had to have it look like it was shot down crashing violently into the backyard trees ..........

keep at it

Erich: When you get to be my age, you'll have the patience of Job.
It's just like these guys that do scratch-builts. That's beyond me !

I see you changed your avatar...... again.

Hi all: Got the wing mated to the fuselage, last night. Also attached the
small radiator at the leading edge of the wing, under the fuselage. Tonight
I will work on the landing gear and other external fittings, and get it ready
for painting. Maybe pic's tonight...

Tonight I got the landing gear on, the oil cooler intake and the canopy. I
am wondering if I should have waited on the canopy.... oh well, it will come
off easy, if necessary. Next is the wing fairings....
