Brilliant stuff your friend has accomplished. There is so much that he has obviously put thought into. The mud, the broken track, the triumphant tank's enemy, the solace of the wounded pondering the grave marker, the tow cables abandoned... if a picture is worth a thousand words, this diarama contains may more.

Utterly brilliant. Tell your friend that a diarama is not just the technical accomplishment, but the story that it tells. And his tells volumes.
