These are from my day trip across the southern part of the province. The first shows the Rocky Mountains west of the city of Cardston and you can see the Mormon Temple just above the van. Next is a shot of the temple, which is quite imposing.
The rest are taken in Writing on Stone Provincial Park. The are pictographs carved into the Sandstone of the banks of the Milk River. The photos show the rock formations on the road into the camp grounds. The river loops around the camp ground. There's a shot of my vehicle with the sand stone rock wall which bounds the campground's north side. The sand stone has many holes and crevices used by Peregrine and Prairie Falcons for nesting, along with other bird species.
The second last shot shows the hoodoo formations which have pathways running through them. The last shot is a view across the river to a gap in the rock wall whiskey traders used to come in from Montana. There's an old Northwest Mounted Police outpost over there that can be visited on horseback tours.

Lacey, Leo and other cats update. Leo now walks on the fence rail like Lacey, but not as gracefully.
After a month of staring up the tree, Leo now climbs it like pro. The black and white cat is nasty, but the grey
one, Socks, is very friendly and Leo likes him. The Tabby is a stray.

Had a young skunk in the yard last night. Lacey, Leo and Socks were also in the yard. The cats were curious about the intruder and moved in for a closer look. Socks decided to run the young skunk off and gave it a swat. The young skunk gave Socks several swats in return and that ended the confrontation. The skunk wandered off and Lacey and Leo's owners heaved a sigh of relief that no cats got sprayed. An adult skunk likely would have let loose. :)
