Just completed (literally, 52 minutes ago) this commission of Isoroku Yamamoto's G4M1 'Betty' being shot down by Lt. Rex Barber's P-38 on April 18, 1943 - Operation Vengeance.

Thought I'd share!

Cool in a way preserving the control column, (but not in the way..) of the 1st official US state sanctioned assination of a enemies leader/brass/person...

That P-38 model looks more like a Droopsnoot than a 38 fighter/inceptor/'P'ersuit/escort...

Even during the revolution, colonial sharpshooters aimed for the officers.
Taking out the command structure is a tactic probably as old as warfare.

Thanks, guys! That's an amazing relic: the control wheel. This painting was commissioned by a collector who has Barber's autograph and piece of Yamamoto's a/c, and wanted the artwork to accompany them.

I made some revisions based upon the client's wishes. At first I was really against adding the tracers because I didn't think they'd make sense with Barber's P-38 starting to pull out . . . but I think they work. Your thoughts?
