This is a simple kit for 1/48 scale. When I bought this kit second hand, it had a bunch of extra parts. The kit had the marking for a service F-16. I checked and with the two part nose gear door, it should be done in a prototype paint scheme. I have always liked the red, white, and blue scheme. But these are tough colors to do brush painting.
The white took many coats. The red wasn't too bad. The challenge was the blue stripe on the belly. It goes over ALL of the gear doors!!! I placed the doors in place and masked and hoped for the best. IT WORKED!
I did find a picture of this plane with both the Sidewinders and drop tanks on the wings. So at least for a moment on the ground, this was the way this very plane was loaded.
