Here's an old one with some kit bashing. The old Hawk 1/48 U-2 with a cockpit from a
1/48 Revell Starfighter. It was that awful yellow color plastic that George is currently working
with. The Starfighter is a distant relative to the U-2, Kelly Johnson used the Starfighter as a
base and added large wings to create the U-2, so the story goes. Images are old and not my
best.- John

Something different. I always liked trains so I decided to build a model train. There are no
"models" of the ones I prefer so I "built" an Athearn HO GP-35 using an E Bay find. I got a hold of an
undecorated "dummy", non powered", unit and put the few parts on, lights, horns, railings,
windows and a few other small doo dads. I bought after market decals in a livery that use to
pass through my home town about 45 years ago I had seen as a kid. I painted it all up and decaled it
with the proper number. I plan on doing another this year, one from a "short line" that ran through my
town.- John

LOL! Saw lots of Canadian rolling stock as a kid. Here is the junction my grandfather worked at
a mile or so from my house as a kid. The picture is from 1955 in Massachusetts, Gramps was a
brakeman for New York Central. Note the Canadian Pacific car westbound passing the NYC F3
unit!-John

1/72 Minicraft kit as close as I know how to get to my wife's grandfather's B-24H in which he flew 39 missions from Halesworth, UK over Germany.. 847th Sqn, 489th BG.. As the Navigator, he was witness to some of the first operational Me-262's. He said "It was like seeing science fiction happen right outside my window."
This looks to be my last hand-painted build. I just bought an airbush setup.. Trying new skills!
