I am back with a few photos. But first a quick update. Life has basicly sucked the past year. The CEO was fired for taking to much in kickbacks. No not that he was getting kickbacks but he was getting more than the company allowed. So the home office was all *$^ up and what happens. They close our office and send all of the work to the home office and then they tell us to fix the home office before we get laid off. Right, like that is going to happen. All this happens 2 days after I get a home loan. If I can get another job in the next 4 weeks at the same pay I can get a house. The up side is that I hope to spend time here at the library during the day.

Here are the swords my stepmother's father brought home from WWII. How do I make these smaller? I have to ruun. I will try again later.

Welcome back DB. Holy crap those are big pic files.

Those are not Samurai swords, but WWII officer's swords with Chrisanthimum tsubas. You have a real treasure there. If you have any provenence (letters or details from your Stepmother's father) keep them with the swords and do not separate them if you ultimately sell them. And whatever you do, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN OR SHARPEN THEM IN ANY FASHION.

Very nice collection.

I'm way jealous!!

WElcome back DB!!! Life is nothing but a series of bumps and potholes - nothing is ever smooth sailing, at least above ground!

Thanks, guys. I can surf the net at work, what are they going to due, fire me? It is not much mork to due around here. We are just hanging out most of the day.

Good luck and great swords there! Hold on to them if you can. I have seen them go from several hundred to several thousand dollars. Like I said though, try and hold on to them. As a militaria collector, I hope to pass my collection on to my children.

I am trying the get them. His son does not see the value in it. My father has them. Leo is not in the best of health and is almost 90. My father want to give them to a museum. If I cannot change his mind, I will try ad get to the military school I went to. I have been working with swords since the 80's and would love to have them. I wish I knew more about their history.

There is a 90% chance of rain when Houston has an airshow. This year was purfect weather. It was great to see the B29 in the air again. There were problems with the B-24 but she was up and flying after to show ended. There were about 6 new planes this year. I will try to have photos posted by the end of the month. I will get pictures from 2010 posted this week.
