Couple of pics from a trip to Oklahoma earlier this month. The grasshoppers were in plentiful abundance, and we saw more than a few of the walkingsticks...those suckers blend in REALLY well in the woods!
These little fellows are lurking in my garden today, not seen either of them before. Both spiders were very close to each other and I'm assuming the larger is the missus and the skinny one her mate which I thought was dead until I pocked it.
Vic, really nice pics. the males are generally much smaller and the female will kill them if they don't escape.
we have caterpillars whose hairs are poisonous or at least very irritating same in Australia?
There's on creepy crawly that I still can't stand... Those leeches I came across in South East Asia. They look like redish brown inch worms until the start sucking on you.
Following on from my boy meet girl, boy has been lost (maybe it was girls dinner), anyway, found said girl munching on yet another gourmet lunch yesterday, not long after a nice rain shower.
Woke up to a visitor in the bedroom. Teenage Huntsmen spider. Has pissed rain here the last couple of days and was probably getting in out of the weather. Catch and release was undertaken. Bloody thing was lucky the wife had already gone to work (she mustnt have seen it - no screams heard) and the cat hadnt found it.
