These two guys just took roost with us for about 10 minutes today. Unperturbed by the clicking of my camera they just watched me seemingly without concern.

Sorry Andy, I should have said. It's the laughing bird of Australia, the Kookaburra who belong to the Kingfisher family. Very good snake catchers and can when going at full volume make one hell of a noise.

You should have been a photographer, beautiful flowers and location.

Before I start the latest travel log of pics taken during our world trip in September/October, I thought I'd start off with some of the blooms we found in our garden on our return.

Taking pride of place are these two Waratah blooms. This plant has take over seven years to produce these first two flowers and had we come back just on a week later we would have missed them in their full glory. The third shot is a real close-up taken with a new lens purchsed while away, It's a wide angle/macro which I feel I'm going to have a lot of fun with.

Also this white peony has a similar history, we have managed to get bud on it before but they never developed in to full blooms before falling off.

As for the rest, they just bring a smile to the face each time we look at them.
