It's been a while since the last post folks but were hoping the hectic life is going to slow down now were into the New Year and I'll be able to get on with posting my snap shots.

Keeping with the same theme, one of our side trips took us to Athens for a day, these are some of the days viewings.

On the way to the Pantheon we passed by this huge amphitheatre and relic of a monument.

As you say Paul, to many "furriners" even though I'm one myself.

I'd kind of like the place to myself. Trouble is with the Med, to many damn cruise ships and there so bl00dy huge. Saw a couple docking in Venice on the box last night and they dwarfed Piazza San Marco (St. Marks Square) and the buildings round it.

Thanks for looking in guy's, geez it was hot that day in Greece.

You can't visit this city without going to see the changing of the guard outside the Parliament building. This was a week day so they are not in the all white uniform used on Sunday.

It was interesting to watch as each guard is inspected in full view of the public just prior to the change over ceremony and the Lieutenant doing the inspection made minor adjustments to each guards dress.

Thanks for looking in folks.

Moving on from the changing of the guard we still had a few more ruins to wander in Athens before our ferry departed. Here a quick selection, but please don't ask me what they were, there were so many.

After a long hot day, it was only mid May, we boarded a ferry for one of the Greek islands.

Continuing on with this rather long holiday, hopping from one place to another. Here we are now on the Greek island of Syros which was about a three hour ferry ride from Athens. The hotel was new so we got a cheap opening offer for a week.

The café just round the corner was the in-place to eat, lovely local food and as you can see, in-house entertainment from the locals.
