Great stuff Geo, plenty of time now to diminish the kit stash !

Cheered up today good style. My mobile 'phone had reached the end of its useful life, so I bought a new one (just a basic Nokia, with bluetooth and limited internet, apps etc, as I'm unable to use an "I- phone" touch screen due to my stiff fingers) . However, my mini- sim card was not compatible, as the new 'phone uses a nano-sim.
So, when in town, I called in to the EE shop (my service provider) to organise a new card and have the data from the "old" card transferred.
Not only was this done, at no charge, but I also ended up getting a 24.5% reduction to my monthly contract charges !
Very happy with that !

Retired!!!!! Finished my last night shift this morning. I ended up telling most of the crew during my last few days even though I said I wouldn't tell anyone but management. What I did was when I saw a person alone, I told them I was done and swore them to secrecy and everyone kept their word. As far as each of them knew, they were the only ones that were in the know.
Beware! You will find everyone you know, and some you don't, will ask you to do "this because you now have time". Practice now, excuses, or you will be busier than you were at work.

Went for a short walk in the local park last night and when I got back to the truck went to the nearby dumpster to throw away a little garbage. Inside the dumpster was a pretty pathetic looking Raccoon just sitting there on it's butt. Dumpster was pretty empty and I don't think it could jump high enough to get to the top and out, so I went and got a long 2X4 piece of lumber and came back and put one end down into the dumpster and the other on the top edge.
Went back to the truck and within 15 seconds here comes the Raccoon up the 2x4, looks around, runs up the nearest tree a little and looks around a little more, decides it's safe and runs off into the woods.
I would have thought about that critter stuck there all night or longer.

THat would depend on how well you dressed it before converting the meat.

(for those who never hunted meat - dressing is the removal of the skin and guts and other inedibles like most animals tails and feet)
In rural south, raccoons were game eaten as other small critters. My late father in law, raised in rural Mississippi, told of country boys moving to the city and wishing to have an old home meal of raccoon.. Some other employees often bought dressed, cleaned raccoon to work for sale. They were soon told to leave the feet on after skinning and gutting.
