The summer is over and cicadas have gone weeks before but shells still remain as they were despite of the heavy rains and winds.

What surprises me more is this dead cicada.
This could have died a few years ago but still on the tree

Sad news today. My cat neighbors, Lacey and Leo are off to Costa Rica with their owners
for 3 months and they are not returning here when they come cack to Canada. I'll miss them.:(
With their home nearly emptied, they walked around the yard like lost souls.

Now that summer is over, I just realized that I simply did not land any significant wildlife photos for the first time in a decade. Really unusual, to be honest.

I did get a few insect shots but nothing really noteworthy. I'll share a couple of them here.

This one was captured back on the morning of July 28th.

This little butterfly was resting on a Spiderplant in the afternoon of an exceptionally warm day back on September 9th.

Lots of migrating birds at the water dish today. Robins and Juncos.
Some photos of the Robins and our neighborhood Blue Jays. Never really noticed how intricate the jay's color pattern is.
