Absolutely not; beats our plain blue or grey birds any day. Yesterday a Black Bear was at the end of our street, less than 100yds from the house.

My partner in crime, of course, had to get close. The bear would be at the extreme left of the photo

I bought the wife a Canon Powershot SX540 HS last year. It has a 50 X optical zoom and can really pull in objects. This is hand held

I have had the ELPH3000 model of the PowerShot serie... It was amazing...

As you can guess, it stuck to some glued hands!!! And never returned to rightful owner!!!

Some may remember the photos of beaver dams I posted a few months ago, high and dry now. I think the dam may have burst.

SWMBO included for perspective and taking a pic of one of four entrances

Grizzly Bear had passed ahead of us; the ground is very spongy

According to folk-lore Woolly bear caterpillars have a reputation for being able to forecast the coming winter weather. If their rusty band is wide, then it will be a mild winter. The more black there is, the more severe the winter. You be the judge
