I went to order a Szekely engine from Eduard and they were fresh out, so I had to scratch build one.

Also cut up an old Lindberg Jenny wing for use on this build.

Lovely work Andy, and I particularly like the engine. It's a bit late now, but you might find that nylon thread, fishing line, or lead wire is easier to wrap to make the cylinders, and also dispenses with the fibres having to be trimmed etc. Still looks bl**dy good though !

I just run a lighter under them right after painting, burns the fibers right off.

p.s. I always have my fire extinguisher handy, just in case.

I appreciate the compliments guys. I never would have attempted these kinds of projects the last time I built. Many things have changed for me:

1. The availability of all the research material available on the net
2. A couple of fantastic modelers in my local club who are very willing to share their skills
3. All the great modelers on this forum. I have learned and been inspired by what I've seen here. It's also great for me to be able to get daily input, REALLY keeps me motivated.
4. Having the time to do this stuff, my job right now is full-time care giver to my ailing wife. I have a monitor down in my workroom so she can call me any time she needs me.

Looks Marvelous Andy! And I completely agree with you about the daily input I get from all the guys around here. It really keeps me going. Only downside is the flak I get from my wife now for spending so much time out on the back porch at my bench!
