As sombre as this birthday may be after the sad losses of your dear friends, family members, Neil (Pbfoot) and Richard (Renrich), I plan to let this one pass by without celebrations, as a sign of respect and sadness due to their much too early departure.

I will however, raise a toast to them on Friday

 
Jan, life goes on. I think we should celebrate live as much as grief death. They are gone, you're still here, but I don't believe they would want you stop enjoying your live. Therefore a really happy birthday to you.

I'm sure Neil wouldn't want any maudlin parade past a casket but rather a high toast and smiles with warm spirits! So....

Happy Birthday Jan, I'll raise a pint in your honor on Friday as well. Have not had a drink in over a month and I'm due, this should be the perfect excuse to toss a couple back.
