Good stuff so far Boats.
For the benefit of those who asked, all the Revell/Monogram B-17G kits have interior detail in the nose, cockpit and upper gun position, radio room, bomb bay, and waist positions. with ribbing on one side only aft of the cockpit. The B-17F kit is a simplified version, with all parts fitting the 'G', and has basic detail only, in the nose and cockpit, some very basic detail in the waist position, with everything else 'bare'.

Ahoy
Thanks again fellas for your replies The update for now is the filling of the fuselage as mentioned before the kits moldings are taking their toll its getting that the parts don't fit together like they use to Perhaps someday when monogram revel get a notion they may retool the molds. This is the 46th Monogram B-17 I have built since its release in May of 1975. I can tell the difference no sweat just extra work a piece of cake for me... Okay enough jabbering using a file I filled down the overlap seams and even them out filled the seams with filler putty letting the fuseolage dry starting on the wings now getting all of the sub assemblies done before putting the aircraft together. Here is the filled in fuseolage assembly next update will be the wings I will post these this evening sometime.. I will not drop the flaps on this build I have another Monogram I have done before with the wi9ng flaps dropped. Here is the update for now more coming our way fellas.

Great stuff Boats. I can see the difference in the current kit - I built mine at touch over 20 years ago and the fuselage gaps were minimal then.

Ahoy Terry
thanks Terry for your reply yes sir even 20 years ago they started to show wear and tear on the molds I remember back in 1975 when the kit was first released to the modeling world the parts fit like a dream with a little or hardy any filler putty added........... My only negative imput on the model back then was only they opened up the bomb bay doors sand and add the bomb bay details for $8.50 back then beggers wern,t choosy a welcomed sight with gladness. thanks Terry you the Man

Looks like a lot of filler there Boats. That kit's not what it use to be, but it looks like you have a handle on it

Ahoy Mike
Thanks mike for your reply yep I got the handle on this one its sad to see this kit getting worse be every release. even the surface detail is starting to fade out from the molds. Monogram Revell Need to get the molds re tooled, If that were ever to happen you can bet the price of this kit will increase in cost... It took a lot of the filler to blend in the seams on the next build update you will see the seams have disappeared the putty has done its job. Thanks mike you the Man.
