Nice work Wayne. Charles, i think the port exhaust shield was to prevent, or minimize, hot exhaust gasses being ingested into the supercharger intake.
 
Thanks guys, tried something different today....as I have removed the raised detail on the rudder, i thought I would try something different to still give some impression of the detail but retain the flat surface.

Added some thin tape strips and then applied some light strokes of black pastel, have rubbed some back to reduce the effect but i think it still needs a bit more reduction...
