It was there was a huge bend between both sides and the middle wire gave it more support.

No its cause the holes were higher up so I made this one lower to give support and it worked! Sorry my dad is taking the camera.

Says he still has a handful of things to take pics of.No problem. Harry if you want to stick the flap you should make these bent up endings of these wires shorter.I think a few milimeters will be enough.It means these wires shouldn't be seen in the interior of flaps.When made shorter try to fit the flap again.Also check if there is possibility of making the gap smaller.If all will be fine you can apply a llittle bit of the CA glue at these wire endings.And then add the flap.
