Okay, so just sand to remove this putty?

Yes you have to remove some of the putty there.Simply you have to clean the edge up.It should look like the same on the another side..Unless you did something wrong to that too.As you have hidden it with the blue tape in that pics.

Nah, the other blue tape was disintegrating so I replaced it.
