Thanks Wayne! I have been wanting to shoot the PT-22 air-to-air for a while and finally got the opportunity. Having the PT-17 along was an added bonus. We had sat down and belted back in when the Gobosh formed up on us. He must have known we were on a photo flight. So we got up again to shoot that one. I am going through about 2100 shots from yesterday (it was an airshow too, not just air-to-air). More to follow.

This was the door to shoot through. The straps were improvised to give us some protection. It is a bit unnerving at first when you are leaning your head (and camera) out of the door and into the slipstream to take the pictures. But I got comfortable with it pretty quick once I figured out the best position to be in (sitting indian style of the floor, then leaning forward and out).

The second picture is a good sized formation of Vans RVs, of varying models.

Thanks guys. I have to say, I have NO regrets buying the D80. The clarity and quality of the camera is outstanding. I have noticed a considerable improvement in quality since I upgraded. I am still using the D50 for static shots, but need to get it in for a good cleaning. There are a LOT of dustspots on the pictures with the D50 right now. Anyway, here are some more from yesterday's day in the office.

Eric: Those shots are truly great. I know the D80 makes a big diff. My boss
just got one after his Minalta broke. Great shots.

As for cleaning, Ritz Camera has a $65.00 program. They send it off
and it gets a thorough cleaning and inspection for your money.
Repairs are extra.

I'm getting ready to send the N51 off for cleaning.

Eric....I really wish that I took as oustanding and beautiful pics as you do...they should be seen by ALL air enthusiasts....
Looking forward to many more to come!

Thanks Lucky. I thought I might go to Yuma in February, but the plans look kinda slim on that for the moment due to timing. March is the next scheduled show, but I am working on some other projects between now and then.

I just visted the link. I like the mountains in the background. The pictures are outstanding. I think the P-51 and Stearman are the best.
