Some super shots there Eric Soon as I saw the gas pumps I thought Bad day at Black Rock with Spencer Tracy in Oscar winning form one of my all time fav films
the winding wheel is really great, but the Hover fish takes first prize  not one surface reflection amazing

I was also amazed by the shot of the fish. THat water was incredibly clear. The old town is cool as well. makes you wonder about the history of the place.

Okay, here is a completely blown shot! One of the things I try and harp on is situational awareness. As you can see, one lapse in your awareness can lead to this.

Ha...bl**dy typical isnt it.....you try and take a shot of a '51 with a great looking building behind....and some pillock comes wazzing along in another plane and ruins your shot !. If I had a pound for every one of these I've taken.......

Great shots Eric

I got my D80 back yesterday after a 2 weeks stay at the repair shop for a thorough cleaning. My 18-200mm lens has to go out to Nikon for repair, so I am using my old 28-80 kit lens. Here are a few test shots from today of my display case and one of the missus.

Dang...you think you can shoehorn one more airplane in that case?

Good to hear you got your camera back without a hitch...when I sent mine off a year or so back for a warrenty firmware upgrade, I was crawling the walls until it returned.

And that's a great shot of your better half!

Cheers guys. Yeah, I had to stop picking up airplanes because that case is overflowing. It's a trick to get them all in. There is a Zippo that belonged to my grandfather, dated 1953, a USS Abraham Lincoln Zippo that was given to me while I was in the USAF, by a crewman off the Lincoln and my camouflaged Zippo that I carried for many years.

I also have a clock from an F4U Corsair, 2 inert shells (.50cal and 20mm) and a 30mm projectile (HE round). My medals and other assorted stuff round out the top of the case.

The bottom has my grandfather's old radio (It's a Westinghouse and it still works, although takes a bit to warm up). Most of the polished rocks in there are from a great uncle who was a paleontologist. A distant relative's Hockey card (Les Binkley rookie card) sites next to the pewter tankard my squad mates got for me when I got out. The F-111 model was one that I had a friend put together for me, and he did an awesome job.

More airplanes, a WWII soldiers Hebrew prayer book and some trucks from a business that is part of the family lineage round out the case 'o stuff.
