Hanukkah in my case, but still early for that. ;) We host the family celebration every year and we're doing it a week early to accommodate schedules. I think my mother in law wants me to hav it for the party on Saturday. I'm cool with that! I am hoping to get up to Santa Paula on Sunday to try it out but the weather forecast is looking pretty cruddy, so we will see.

Cheers fellas. I eked what I could out of the D80 and got some reasonable shots (I know, to everyone else they were great). I say that because after some test shots yesterday, the capabilities of this camera floored me! I haven't set it up completely the way I want yet and the results have been amazing. The color depth and representation of the sensor is phenomenal! Vibrant, rich, Fuji Velvia type color. I am really looking forward to pushing it through it's paces at the airport.

Here are some test shots around the house yesterday. It's raining and yucky outside, so it may be a while before I get any airplane shots.

Excellent! I really like the water droplets on the leaves. Very sharp, you can see light changes within some of the droplets. Very cool. :thumbright: Still trying to figure out the first shot. Looks like the hood or trunk of a car but not sure. Could be through glass to. And your shots of your children are always great.:thumbright:

It's a bit of a drive to get down there, Wayne. ;)

A new experiment yesterday with the new camera. It's always a challenge to shoot under stage lighting, but this new camera made it a breeze! I took this shot at ISO 3200, and it is amazing, very little grain and the clarity is phenomenal in comparison to high ISO shots with the D80.
