Been back into landscapes lately...

The first one is a little blurry, but it was spur of the moment, and I was using the car as a tripod (the car was idling) but the colors were just too much to pass up!

The second shot was taken on my way back to town after a long night of celebrating a friend's birthday. As I was heading down the highway that morning, I saw this shot and almost didn't take it, but turned the car around and came back to this spot and dug my camera out of the back of the car and took it. Glad I did!

Dave, your killing me man, killing me. I had to spend the entire weekend in the dark because of my eye. We had snow, we had frost, we had blue skys. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!:banghead: Stupendous shots though. WOW. I can't wait to get back out in it again. Those a just phenomenal. :notworthy:  :notworthy:

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Sorry you were being tortured, Aaron...hopefully your eye didn't put too big of a cramp in your photo quest!

I posted much smaller versions of these at Facebook, and everyone seemed to enjoy them, so I'll post 'em up here for those of you who don't frequent Facebook that often (or at all...lol)

This time of year sure has a real colorful quality to the clouds!

Thanks guys!

Vic, I don't use a filter, though I'd like to get some eventually (finances keep me from getting alot of things, actually) but I do play with shutter speeds to manipulate the effects/colors to a certain degree.

In the order that I posted the last three pics, using my Pentax K100D with a Pentax 18-55mm SMC DA lens, here's the info:
Image 1:
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 40mm @ f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/90 sec.

Image 2:
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 55mm @ f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/30 sec.

Image 3:
ISO: 200
Focal Length: 55mm @ f/5.6
Shutter Speed: 1/20 sec.

I would like to find a good mid-range lens for landscapes, since I have a huge gap between my 18-55 and my 70-300. I've been looking at the 50-150 and the price isn't all that bad, either.

Of course, if I had my way, I'd have all sorts of lenses and accessories!

Wow, just realized I hadn't posted anything in a while...how time flies, huh?

Here's a few shots I figure everyone might like :)
