Thanks, guys.... and thanks to Chris for reminding me.... I have to fabricate
the stabilizer braces, too. It won't be much longer...

TT - Unfortunately you don't do panel lines on balsa/tissue planes. You can
do the lines on control surfaces one of two ways. Either with very thin color
tape, which hobby shops sell, or with a pen and ruler. I am going to opt for
the thin black tape.... it's easier for me to make a straight line that way.

This has been my complaint.... details on a balsa model are lacking. I don't
dare try to do weathering ! Looks like my FW-190 just rolled out of the FW
plant.... a pristine airplane, ready to be ferried to the front.

Charles, I have never tried this on a wood model but there may be some things that would work, weathering wise.

How does watercolors (kinda that you find for kids books) show on a wood model? Might be able to play around with it. Also graphite and chalk has worked for me. Again, unknown how on balsa but if you want I can send you a "test" plane - I still have that Seversky!
 
I would like to put my three cents there.It seems that there is other additional method of obtaining panel lines.But this can take much time.It is possible to mask all panels with masks made of the paper adhesive tape.Dimensions of these panels should be a bit (0.5mm) smaller in order to get the lines between panels.When all surfaces are masked with these panels we can airbrusing with black or another dark colour on all the model.Then remove carefully these masks.And you have these panel lines.Or it would be better to cut off very narrow (0.5-1.0mm) stripes of the tape and stick them to the proper places before a model is painted.In this case it will be achieved panel lines like these engraved on models from plastic kits.
 
This airplane will probably hang from the ceiling in my garage.... never to be
ooh'd, aah'd or fondled. I don't think I am going for panel lines... I did finish
the prop yesterday and hope to paint it tonight. Add antenna wires and
guns/cannon and the lines for control surfaces. Then I can finish the bf109.

Hi Guys: Worked on the FW-190A4 today. Got the cannon made, installed and painted.
Made them from round toothpicks and small skewer sticks.
Also got the antenna on. The only thing left is the tailwheel... and I don't
have any ideas for that..... yet. And, of course, I have to make a "Yellow
One"

Charles the Wurger looks really cool.Well done friend.
As far as the tail wheel is concerned we both can think it over.But if you aren't in a hurry we can do it after Christmas will be finished.
 
Hi: When I put the pic's up the other day I failed to upload these two. A
shot of the underside, and a close-up of the nose. Still working on the
"yellow one" and a tailwheel.
