Bristol Beaufigter. I believe Port Morsbey Australia.

Thanks, all your photos are great but one small error.

Port Moresby is the capital of Papua New Guinea (PNG), an independent country since 1975. Before that it was the capital of the (LoN/UN) Mandated Territory of PNG. The weather is great, the people variable (like everywhere else), the diving fantastic, but the city is filthy and not particularly safe.

Pre WW2 over half the worlds air cargo was carried in PNG. This included seven (from memory) 7000 tonne gold dredges carried in small pieces from Lae to Wau, a distance of under 100km/60 miles. During the Berlin Airlift more air cargo was carried from Madang and Lae to the highlands than carried to Berlin. Sinclairs book Balus: The Aeroplane in Papua New Guinea. Volume 1 - The Early Years covers these periods of PNG history. It is worth finding a library that has it - on line those for sale are expensive BookFinder.com: Search Results

From Papua New Guinea - Wikipedia Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. It is also one of the most rural, as only 18 percent of its people live in urban centres.[10] There are 852 known languages in the country, of which 12 now have no known living speakers.[11] Most of the population of more than 7 million people live in customary communities, which are as diverse as the languages.[12] The country is one of the world's least explored, culturally and geographically. It is known to have numerous groups of uncontacted peoples, and researchers believe there are many undiscovered species of plants and animals in the interior.

Note that these are distinct languages, not dialects. Since Independence the majority of roads and airfields have closed due to the same cultural issues that caused the 850+ languages.

Thanks for the info
The PTO is not really my speciality subject, especially when its comes to Australia and surrounding islands/territories. But the links are appreciated to touch up my knowledge....
