You have to love the look of the German Shepard. Always had 2 or 3 around the place as a kid. My last one died 30 years ago and we found hair for 10 years after. I really dislike the "slinky" rear-end the show breeders have gone towards. Your boy seems to be very well built

Great looking Shepherd!

That was just the way he held them as a puppy.

One of our Shepherds had a "lazy" ear, it usually folded over and gave her the look of deep thought. Most folks thought it was broken or damaged but when something caught her attention, it would perk up with the "normal" ear just fine.

The Perking of the ears usually happened when deer would come into the yard, a bear was rummaging around out behind the garage or Mom would start preparing dinner...

I'm pretty sure I submitted a mug shot before but could not find it.

A pal from basic got his wings a year or so after we graduated. A few years later, both in West Germany. My pal had one of the very last IGB patrol flights, Jan 90. I was days from end of tour. Anyway, comment of the day was, "Kettler, If you weren't old and blind! You're a natural!" this after I was able to make the Kiowa hover then hover with left and right turns. I flew most of the mission, saw from the air all the checkpoints I'd patrolled by foot and jeep. Quite the adventure for a Ground Scout!

Appears to be one of the Bell Indian copters: Kiowa

Correct, OH-58C Kiowa. Note Adam in the other seat giving the 'no hands on' signal to the observer (who stepped out and took the picture). The youngster got kicked to the back when I boarded.

Side note, during some ground training we visited The Wasserkuppe, home of sailplanes. I've other somewhat less pleasant memories of the Hohe Rohn, winter foot patrols along the border trace, arse deep in snow. But it was important, and we did our jobs, great friends with the guys from then that I've kept in touch with.
