Well been gone for about a week, went to Arizona, Mohave Valley to take care of my mother and do chores around her homestead. Took my camera along just in case. The first shots are of a old gold mine in Searchlight, Nevada, on the way to Mohave Valley, A nice sunset taken from my mothers back porch. Then some shots of the London Bridge at Lake Havasu. The old town is Oatman, a fascinating place to visit, mulls run around in the streets and into the stores, they have full run of the city. I had to get a picture of the medivac chopper. The carved Bears were infront of the Restaraunt "The Hungry Bear" in Bulhead City. Fantastic place to eat. Hope you enjoy the shots.

Thanks all, I had to have the sensor cleaned before we wen on the trip, glad I did. I had to remove a few power cables out of the second sunset shot, they kind of spoiled the picture. I wish I had more time to look at more of the old mines, maybe next time. We talked to an old miner at Oatman, he said he still mines for silver, gold, and other stones in the hills and makes about $4,000.00 a year at it. I still have quite a bit to learn on this camera, especially setting the lighting and different f stops.

Ontos, I finally got into mine and am using the M setting which is the manual setting. The higher your F-stop # the less light it will let in. Now on your aperture settings which show up in the view finder as fractions the smaller the fractional # the faster the shutter operates and the less time light has to hit the sensor ( 1/2500). If your aperture shows 1/40 you get more exposure time and thus more light. I was playing with this when I took the last moon shots that I posted. I shot those with an aperture setting of 1/100 and the best F-stop setting was 16 to 18. I hope this helps. Just play around with it and you will learn to get the feel for it. :thumbleft:

Thanks Aaron. I'll try your settings for another Moon shot. It might be awhile, storm coming in, so they say. I have played with the "exposure Compensation" button. Usually when I'm taking the Sunrise and Sunset shots. I'm learning, slowly but surely. I'm hoping to get some Christmas light shots, whenever I can get downtown. :D

If you raise your aperture setting to 1/25 or greater you can probably lower your F-stop settings to make it a little easier. Just play around with it some because I'm still figuring it out also.

Does anyone know what the name is of the white bird? I have never had one on my feeder before, could not find him in my Bird Book. Added a shot of elephant tooth mountain in Oatman. Oh, yea, some more flowers and a water drop.
