Looks great Luis but regarding guns, they weren't all on the center line of the wing leading edge but parallel to the ground. I'll have to deal with this myself when I do the next GB.

Great work so far Luis. Are you still hoping to finish it as a Brazilian P-47 in Italy? I have a 1:48 P-47D that I want to build in that scheme but am having difficulty sourcing the decals in that scale.

Keep up the good work,

Gerry

Hi Gerry, thanks for your comments.

I did not quite understand your question, "P-47 Brazilian, in Italy ?, the old Monogram model only offers two versions and I decided to make that wears olive drab and light gray on the top and bottom of the plane.

In the photos I attached from instructions, both versions belong to the 56th Fighter Group, 8th Air Force.

Sorry I can not help you, my experience is still low. I'm sure more than a fellow of the forum can give a reason for where to get these decals you need. I do not miss the new P-47 yours !! (so you started?)

Good luck and thanks for visiting friend.

Un abrazo

You're right George and I deeply appreciate the observation, in fact I have that image in my reference photos for my plane; ,...but I think live with that too in this my first P-47.
Is a stellar WWII plane, so I hope to do more versions (and in best brands where it is made), and do as correspond those guns properly.

Particularly in my country we have the "glorious" <Squadron 201> FAM (Fuerza Aerea Mexicana) ... into an opportunity I will make this representative aircraft in history of military aviation in Mexico.

I share these images:

Hi GerryI did not quite understand your question, "P-47 Brazilian, in Italy ? ...

Luis, I think Gerry meant the The Brazilian Expeditionary Force or BEF (Portuguese: Força Expedicionária Brasileira; FEB) that was an expeditionary force of about 25,700 men and women arranged by the Army and Air Force to fight alongside the Allied forces in the Mediterranean Theatre of World War II. Brazil was the only independent South American country to send ground troops to fight in the Second World War. The BEF made its campaign in Italy in 1944 between the Allies. The group was placed under the USAF 350th Fighter Group with the codename "Jambock", but called FAB 1st Fighter Aviation Group (aka "Senta a Pua"). The missions given to Brazilians involved attack bridges, ammunition dumps and vehiculos shipping, also submarines in the Atlantic front. The group was formed by P-47 Thunderbolt planes.
This air-land force fought in Italy from September 1944 to May 1945, while the Brazilian Navy as well as the Air Force also acted in the Atlantic Ocean from the middle of 1942 until the end of war. During the eight months of the Italian campaign, the Brazilian Expeditionary Force managed to take 20,573 Axis prisoners, consisting of two generals, 892 officers, and 19,679 other ranks. During the War, Brazil lost 948 of its own men killed in action across all three services during the Italian campaign.

A couple of Brazilian P-47s .....

I had a very helpful PM from George (furbar57), pointing out that Italeri produce a P-47D that includes the Brazilian decals. I've also established that the kit is still available. But if anyone has that kit and weren't going to use the Brazilian version, I would be interested in buying them, if you would PM me.

Apologies for hi-jacking Luis' thread.

Gerry

Gerry, there were Brazilian decals available on sheets called 'Roundels of the World', or something similar. Can't remember who they were from, but might have been 'Kits World'. I've also seen them specific for P-47s, which might be the same sheets.

The top of the wing union did not represent much of a problem, just a bit of putty.

I forgot to take pictures of the flaps of the wings, which I detailed with riveting panels on both sides of the wing. In some post photos, you can see them.

Here I remarked panels, I riveting necessary and eliminated the injection and brand rear spoilers.

I appreciate your comments guild friends.

The truth is that this plane has motivated me especially, insomuch that they did not believe entertain much time on a model ... and being such a "deceptively simple" model.
I'm practicing and learning a lot and really enjoy it too when I have time to devote to this whenever I like. :!:

I have a frace that I really like:
"I do not like certain things as they are, but rather as they can become"
... and up to you to make that happen.

Moving on !! ... ...
The bombs brackets are missing some details that I've seen in pictures and armed models here and in other forums, so, have fun more ...

... For the lower light wing, it occurred to me this detail with a small pellet of those used in acupuncture and put it on a small "bota-moldes" of a branch (help me with English translation)

The way of appearing in the steel bombs that are made, I'll learned to JKim (John) in his "Republic P-47D". It was an excellent reference like the P-47M of Crimea_River (Andy).

At rocket launchers, I put Tamiya tape in the straps that attach at the ends. (enhances the appearance)

Very nice mods Luis. I've tried a few different methods with the wheels wells and never really succeeded in getting a smooth transition.
