Very true Evan, nor does it explain how Revell can release some great kits (JU88 for example) at reasonable prices, whilst some other companies want silly prices for average to mediocre kits. A company with a 'musical connection' being one example!
 
Agree completely...As for the company..Horn-...Trumpet- ...Matchbox, right?

(Actually, that's another example - why is a Matchbox kit reboxed by Revell so much more expensive..? )
 
That one doesn't seem too bad though Evan. For example, in the UK, the old Matchbox/ Revell 1/32nd scale kits are around £15, and I seem to recall that back in the mid 1970's they were around £3 to £5 when Lesney-owned Matchbox.
It's nearly 30 years since I built a Matchbox 1/72nd scale kit (Halifax I think), and I remember they had a lot of options included, so still not bad value compared to some really overpriced stuff, from the same era in particular, from another British manufacturer, among others.
