I've finally got myself a negative and slide scanner, and found a few old transparencies of models I built between 1978 and 1980, so thought I'd try out the scanner. Sadly, only two of these models survive (Chieftain and FW190), and the better-quality pics have disappeared from my files.
PIC 1. 1/35th scale Chieftain against a back-projected sunset.
PICS 2 to 4. Knocked out Syrian T55, again in 1/35th.
PIC5 and 6. RAF Phantom, in 1/32nd scale, converted from the Revell F4J kit, still under construction. The squadron eagle badges were hand-painted, as was the camouflage finish overall. This eventually won an IPMS Regional comp, but was destroyed on the way back from the event, when my (then) wife had to take violent evasive action in our car, due to a loony running a light!
PICS 7 to 9. FW190A8, Hasegawa 1/32nd scale. And yes, I know the nose band is wrong, and the cannon bulges are missing from the wing tops!
PICS 10 and 11. The Monogram 1/48th Sabre, in RAF colours, built OOB. The checker nose and tail markings are hand-painted, as is the overall paint scheme.
