Those of you who built balsa models as a youth and painted them with airplane dope thought you slept well because of the satisfaction of doing a good job.

A friend of mine was restoring and recovering a 1929 Waco biplane in his warehouse complex on Saturday afternoon. After spraying multiple coats of dope he decided he had done enough for the day and headed home in the early evening. He soon noted that something odd was going on. Cars were whizzing by him not at the posted 55 MPH speed limit but a great deal faster, like nothing he had ever seen before. Then he thought to look at his speedometer. He was proceeding down the highway at a stately 15 MPH. It seemed much faster to him for some reason.
