About six years ago when I reproduced a Polish insiginia of round shape which was found in a Japanese old document edited in/around 1926, one of my friends said "Hey, that looks like a crash test dummy's marking." His words inspired me such an alien as a joke
As you may know, Mr Orlinski was the first pilot who flew from Poland to Japan.
Thanks, Eric. That has reminded me of my old research more clearly.
Well, the strange thing was that the Japanese document tells the marking was a round shape but, as far as I had checked old photos relating to Mr Orlinski's Breguet br19B which was used for his adventure, I could find no round shape but the square as you show. No one could have misidentified the square the round even in 1926 when people were not familiar with aircrafts. That is still my mystery.
