Not to venture into politics, Shinpachi, but in the 1920's didn't Poland and Japan have a special fondness and relationship with each other . One of Stalin's obsessions was that meddlesome, knieving upstart, Poland, on his flank . The Poles had routed the Red Army in the Ukraine right after achieving statehood -- and Stalin feared Poland. And of course we know what Japan did to Czarist Russia in 1904 - '05. [My source for Stalin on Poland is "Bloodlands", T. Snyder]. The 2 countries seemed to sharea common enemy.
