Anyhoo, the brushes that I bought are as follows; 0 (the blue one), 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 and 1, 2, 3. Are they the same, 2/0, 3/0 and 2, 3?

Sounds like they're the equivalent of 00, and 000 for the first ones, although the others are numbered conventionally. Just look for '3' and '5' on the shafts, and mighty generous of you old chap.
The bits are looking good so far.

This (insert your choice words here) did the famous and went 'ping' on me, on which I had to steal one from my other E's, don't put much hope to ever finding that (insert your choice of words here) thing...

Not only that, but when I put one of the fuselages away to find that.....thing, I put it on top of some superglue....(moan)...managed to get most of it off, just sand it smooth later..
