Nice you caught a UP engine out there!

Thank you Syscom, the strange thing about that engine. All of the UP markings were gone and below the # on the cab side it had the letter CREX in bold black print. I have no idea what that stands for.

You have the engine number besides the CREX marking?

9041 Syscom.It has all of it's U P markings except for the UP name .

I was going through some images and ran across one I had shot last year of some UP maintenance equipment on a siding in downtown Redding.

Not as glamorous as a locomotive, but definately interesting

Good stuff Dave! I saw some RR maintenance equipment going up the Interstate yesterday on a couple of semis.

I had never heard of that one before. Interesting. Here is a shot of it crossing the bridges at the CSX and N&S switch at Boody Yard in St. Paul VA.

Milwaukee Road is THE favorite railroad of mine, among those that I like.
The last pic, of the U-Boat amd EMD's, that's third to last train, before Milwaukee Road shut down its Pacific Extension in March '80!
