Many thanks again for looking in folks, its nice to know your enjoying the pics.
Just as a side from the normal holiday pics' we went to a small country town show today. Aside from the usual cow, sheep, goats, alpacas and lamas on show, not to mention the proverbial dog show. There were the little gems from a bygone era
A diesel driven hay bailer and still fully functional.
A simple petrol driven water pump.
What was once the backbone of the Australian economy, the old diesel driven shearing stand.
But the star of the show was this picture of snow and the heavy cloud of winter taken by my adopted daughter on their property which is just up the hill from where it is being exhibited at the show ground.
Her she is, Trish and her award winning picture. I should also point out that this very same picture was picked out form over 500 entries for the Australian National weather calendar for 2014 and now represents the month of September. We are so proud of her.

It's great fun to see the old equipment still functional and being taken care of...one of these days, those simple machines will be lost to living memory!

My thanks for looking in guys and also thanks for the comments on Trish's photo, they were passed on and she is most chuffed.
Back to the last holiday snaps and were still in Bar Harbor, out on the boat and here are some shots I managed to get of the eagles and a bit of the coastline. I only had my small camera and the boat was rolling quite a bit so a lot of my shots were blue sky or deep water. Anyway, here is the best of them.

Again, thanks for looking in folks and it's time to move on me thinks. After a couple of nights in Bar Harbor we move on north east to St John for a night stop. On the way we stopped at a small inlet cove, its name eludes me but it was a place of early settlement where I believe the settlers eventually came to grief, not at the hands of the local nomadic population but from the harsh winter climate. Maybe someone looking in will be able to recall where it is.
My favourite pastime on holiday, pics of nature at its best.
I was very impressed with the style and architecture, and neatness of the areas housing and churches.
This was the coach we travelled on, very roomy and comfortable and with internet connection most of the time which was more than I could say for some of the hotels who wanted an arm and leg just for an hours plug-in.

That would be St. Croix Island Vic, on the US/Canada border where Maine and New Brunswick each have banks on the St. Croix River.
And, by the way, having lived and worked near Saint John, NB for almost 6 years, I know that the locals are adamant that one not use the short form for "Saint" when spelling out the name of their town.
