My youngest son has the flue, it started on Friday a week ago, now almost 1.5 week later, he still has fever and nausea. Of course this all happens during exam week, so when he's better he will have to catch up again. Poor kid.

I hear you. More reason for me to stay in Europe. On the other hand, I've been guilty of logging into the company's network while lying in bed with a fever as well...Well yeah, I can't work, I can't work.
But if I an able to, I will. This is the United States, not Europe. Sick days are limited. No work, no pay.
