Check had an unexpected excess of monetary funds. Bought a plane I have held off on buying for the longest time! Bought extra goodies for my kids. They are going to be so excited. Talked the MIL to watch the kids while we to go to our favorite eating joint in the Mil-town.
 
It only took two years, but I finally got my replacement medals from the VA. Well all of them but two. They still owe me the Iraqi Campaign Medal and NATO Medal. The cool thing is that engraved the back of them with my name as well. Most of my awards were awarded when I was deployed, and all I got was the orders and certificate. So for example I never received the actual Air Medals. All I had was the certificate and the orders, and the ribbons on my Class As or Blues that I bought in the military clothing and sales store.
