a question: Does the Lockheed P-38 qualify for the heavy hitters GB #18 ??? I've got a Comet Model Airplane Co. balsa P-38 with a 36 inch wingspan I'm itching to get my fingers into.

How about it Terry, Vic, Wayne, or Wojtek ???

Charles

Mmmm, I need more convincing...:D

Mmmmmm…………………….hardly think so Charles, it was designated a fighter which was its main role, that and escort fighter or reconnaissance with its good range.

Can we do that modded B-17 (there was a crew in the Pacific which earned the MOH but I can't recal which plane/people it was :S) certainly a bit more heavy than the usually B-17

The only thing I remember is that it had part of its name as 666. :S :D

With a coat of blue, the P-38 would work in GB#17, as recon.

I'm going to do the Bird-dog for GB #17, and I think taking on the P-38 would be too much. This is a balsa/tissue model with a 34 inch wingspan. The center fuselage, two booms, large wing and tail ass'y would be just too much. Cheers...

I believe the original idea for this GB was to be from WW1 to 1939, meaning the end of the conflict, to the period immediately prior to the beginning of WW2.
However, it seems other have entered WW1 period aircraft, so fine.

I'm having enough trouble with deliveries from the United States arrives the planes me that he had asked a friend and I do not get the three models that had asked for the GB 17 and GB 18

When did he send them Sergio?

Hungarian post is notoriously slow for example - just a matter of waiting. (They once mistook 'New Zealand' for 'Iceland' and my grandmother got her letter about 4 months after I wrote it!!! :) )

Evan I know a few postal services and even worse to say that in a book I bought in an Eastern European country not tell you why no hurt feelings, instead of getting in the box, with its plastic protection I get stuck with the sticker in caps (cost me almost a miracle remove without damaging the book), not plastic or smeared everywhere for something that eventually knew it was a typical seasoning sauce there. The seller chastened of the postal service had taken pics to show that he sent him good anecdotes.
I like a good man that I am, I am a creature of habit and usually buy in the same s shops and in less than 35 days, I have the material at home, plans for 8 months and not know anything about them and the last orders of korea takes 48 days, since, I arrived at the airport terminal for 49 days to usa usps michigan says he left for Spain but is nowhere. The France only take 2 days in transit after being 31 days in central Paris without being processed.

Not sure if Im late to the party on the parcel issue, sometimes the parcel companies deliver it for 2 days (like what happened when I sent a recent package to Romania) and they inspect it and keep it for a week to 3. Sometimes they will make the person come pick up the parcel, even if it isnt in the same city as where the person is from, which makes mailing packages sometimes stupid.

On top of that if they charge you taxes (I've been charges taxes for decals, yes decals :( they can charge anywhere up and above normal percentage rates that you would receive if you yourself purchased in that country you were sending from.

Its Ridiculous.

Sounds like it's becoming common then. I'm still waiting for a kit dispatched from the USA on 8th November !
Yet I've sent stuff to Australia, USA, Hungary and Canada, for example, which normally arrives within about 9 days, and in some cases was received four days later !

Wish they'd sort their act out anyway - at the prices they charge, the least they could do is provide a reliable service.
