Some pictures of Villa General Belgrano, a town of my province founded by swiss settlers in 1920, the european pupulation was reinforced later by survivors of the battleship Admiral Graf Spee and other captured/ interned german vessels.

Idle to say...the germanic influence is very notorious, even the local variant of Oktoberfest is celebrated here. And yes I know, it is a bit surreal.

The clocktower also housing the tourism directions.

I was looking for interesting pics in some old and dusty boxes and I find this, I am shocked, I want some explanations...does anybody know why this ....

A visit to the National Arms Museum ( arms for weapons that is) pictures in the big fat city of Buenos Aires, taken in october 2008.

-Main entrance

- Medieval and renaissance weapons exhibit

- Venezian empire weapons circa 1300

- Several japanese armor circa 1500.

- William Brown statue and saber, this irish inmigrant was the first Argentine Navy admiral.

- Grenadier weapons, above a picture of the Battle of San Lorenzo in wich the grenadiers defeated a spanish Navy and Army landing in the Province of Santa Fe in February 1813.

- Dragones ( infantry ) and Grenadiers ( cavalry) uniforms.

2 more, Gatling guns in display, one is in .50 caliber and the other is .65 caliber, The coffee mill looking thing behind is a Nordenfelt hand crank machinegun cal 11mm spanish (.43)
