I can remember catching carp on the Fox River in Wisconsin. Like you said, not much for eating, but man, do they put up a fight!

Thank you guys. You are rite about the fight Eric, but after about 15 minutes in this kind of heat they will give up like this one did. If you catch them at night they put up more of a fight because of the cooler weather.

Great catch Aaron, good size and another carp gone. They are a problem in our waters and if caught are not to be thrown back.

Nice catch!

I have the perfect recipe for Carp.

1-Preheat oven to 350F
2-Place Carp on a plank of cedar
3-Cover with some butter (real butter!) salt and pepper and place in oven.
4-After 10 minutes sprinkle some garlic on it.
5-After 10 more minutes remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes
6-Remove fish and set it off to the side, then eat the cedar


I will say, they are fun to fish for.

I have heard that recipe before. The garlic helps tone down the cedar.

I had to wade out and and dislodge my line from a rock so I could catch it, it had wrapped the line around the rock.
