Paul, best I can figure is sometime in early 1943, mainly to do with land based units and those marked with diagonal bands and chevrons. later carrier groups didn't use fuselage bands.

Lots of people ask me that for some reason? i use the Gunze Sngyo aqueous acrylic gloss clear and it goes on real nice for me, a first light coat and build it up further from there.

Done the lower surface panel lines now and took a shot of the overall upper surface with all the decals on...will gloss the lower surface tomorrow...

Cheers fellas, thanks.

Glossed the lower surface today and painted the props and spinner, started with the Dark brown on the rear of the blades, masked them off and then sprayed the Silver, used the Citadel Mithril Silver, wasn't happy with one blade in that the surface wasnt as smooth as i would have liked and showed some imperfections, so reluctantly sanded it back got rid of the marks and resprayed it, much better! ...pain to have to clean the silver out twice though...
