Whenever I think I've reached rock bottom, Life hands me another shovel. The yellow circled ones shouldn't be a problem with filler. For the red circled ones, I'm going to try type writer correction fluid,AKA liquid paper.(For those that don't know, Michael Nesmith of The Monkees, mother invented this stuff in 1955). I'll deepen the diminishing lightning holes with a twist drill.


I've read other reviews of this kit that said attaching the leading edge slats in the open position was a real pain so after hitting the interwebs for a while I found two that were closed. They might have been that way for a photo-op, well so be it, my jet is going to have a photo-op.

Some of those ejection marks are like Amazon sink holes. If they are really deep, insert a punched out piece of plastic card the same size as the hole or as close as you can get, then fill in or file back as needed.
 
Okay..Plan A, attach the leading edge slats in the closed position, dry-fit result, really crappy fit requiring way too much mud,
Plan #2, do it according to the instructions, third arm still refusing to evolve, result, pout, glare at Dawg,
Plan the Third, glue the attachment points directly to the wing using Mk.1 eyeball for alignment, result, I can live with it and it's going to be hidden anyway. Letting it dry before reinforcing the joins with Gatorglue.

While waiting for the mud to dry on the tail feathers I thought I would add the piece to fill in the square hole on the starboard wheel well. Note the near perfect fit. Once again my old swipe card comes to the rescue. I will fill and file and drill a hole for some wire.



Anyone know the home address of the Hobbycraft mold maker?

Yeeeeeehaaaaa...I have finally finished puttying, mudding, slathering filler, and sanding this little beast. Though there are a plethora of antennae on the chosen aircraft, Hobbycraft have chose not to have any locating holes, uhhhh, located. Packing for camp now so when I get back the task of researching, measuring and drilling will commence. Back Tuesday morning so have a good weekend gentlemen.
