Cut out the canopy, and masked it using eduard masks.

First lt green is applied, as that is what the inside should look like.

Then the canopy was sprayed and satin finished, and applied using white glue, it came out ok.

Final update;

The landing lights are painted red, blue and yellow and glued on.

The wheel wells get a light wash to bring out detail.

next, the exhausts are given a light black wash, as are the smoke trails for the guns, and this is highlighted with black lead.

Finally a piece of thread is used for the antenna wire.

I know, could you imagine the crew of the essex sitting there polishing the CAG's plane while awaiting the next cap or patrol?

I can't either. ;)

Actually it was common practice among RAAF units in the Pacific, as a way of keeping ground crews occupied during the quieter moments. Read this in an article on CAC Boomerang camouflage, some aircraft thus having a very shiny finish apparently.

Great work on the kit!
